Lyrics

He is our Peace Christ is our Peace 1. Once we were far off, now we are near. Once we were imprisoned, behind a wall of fear. 2. He broke down the walls of hostility Yes, Just like he promised: He set the captives free. 3. Once we were divided, broken in two Now there is one person where there were two. 4. Once we were strangers now we are friends. We were full of hatred, but Christ made amends.

Lyrics

There are many gifts, but only one Spirit who offers them all: One Lord, one Lord One faith, one faith One hope to which we are called. One baptism, one baptism, One baptism washes us all, washes us all One baptism, one baptism, One baptism washes us all, washes us all There are many gifts, but only one Spirit who offers them all One Lord, one Lord, One faith, one faith One hope to which we are called. One hope to which we are called.

Lyrics

It started out like any other Sabbath day We longed to hear from Jesus since he'd been away The news had traveled home of the things he'd done. We asked him here to preach and now his time had come: "You're our hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. You're our hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. We know that you'll employ Your silver tongue." The Prophet's promises he unfolded there The words spilled forth into the waiting air: "The Spirit of the Lord is now upon me." "This word has been fulfilled before your ears." Then he closed the book and as he settled down, The eyes of all the people fixed upon him. The murmurs floated all throughout the crowd We all agreed that he had done us proud. "You're our hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. You're our hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. These words we do enjoy Until..." He answered back, "No doubt you're gonna say to me: 'Go ahead, Doc, and heal your own self!' I tell you truthfully no prophet ever has Acceptance in his own hometown." "Your country had some widows in Elijah's day When famine had raged throughout the land. Yet to none of the elect was old Elijah sent, But on a foreigner was his gift spent." We spat: "You're just a hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. You're just a hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. Don't think you can destroy Our way of life! "So you fancy yourself to be a prophet!" We screamed as we left town for The Hill. "Then perhaps you can tell us, Jesus, what will happen When we help you swallow this bitter pill!" "You're just a hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. You're just a hometown boy! You're people's pride and joy. You're just a hometown boy, You're just a hometown boy, You're just a hometown boy!
